What is the structure of the training programs?
Opticus training is practice based but we start with an introduction module to establish the fundamentals of fibre technology that you will need, the introduction includes modules on Health & Safety and Best Practices.
The practical sessions that follow allow you to develop practical skills in fibre optic technology which could be splicing, testing or terminating depending on the course you select.

What equipment is provided for training?
You will use modern splicing and testing equipment to splice and prove fibre links, joints and terminations. You will not share equipment on our courses, you will have a splicer to yourself and an OTDR to yourself and the tools needed to complete the work.

Is there a training book for the course?
You will receive the training notes book, the practical workbook, a list of recommended tools and a USB memory stick containing extra tutorials, information notes and OTDR analysis software.

Is this an In-person course or are these courses available on-line?
Our courses are delivered in person by experienced trainers with with over 30 years practical experience in the fibre optic installation industry.
